Kaptur is an SUV from the French car maker Renault and is also one of the most awaited car in India. Renault had showcased the compact crossover Kaptur( Captur) at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show. The Renault Kaptur has already seen successful launches in the American as well as European Markets.

The Kaptur is all set for launch in Indian market, it has been frequently spotted doing test rounds on the Indian roads and is expected to make its debut in the Indian market during the festival season.



The Kaptur will be placed above the Duster which is the second most popular car for Renault in the Indian Market.


Exterior

The Kapur is very well designed SUV with  modern as well as bold look. The car stand tall due to a very high ground clearence which is quite typical for most Renault cars these days.



We expect that Renault would launch its SUV in Indian market with not much changes from those seen in the European Versions.We expect a lot more practicality and features from Renault's upcoming SUV.

The Kaptur will get projector headlamps with LED DRL's and larger grille.

Dimensionally, the Kaptur will be 4,333mm long, 1,813mm wide, 1,613mm tall and will have a 2,674mm wheelbase.


INTERIOR



The cabin has 7-inch touchscreen infotainment and climate control system which look a lot like the one in the updated Renault Duster.
Also the car gets steering mounted controls, automatic climate control and flat bottomed steering wheel.

ENGINE

The Renault Kaptur will likely be powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine  and the petrol variant will most likely be powered by a 1.6-litre engine which can be seen in the current variants of Duster .The 1.6 litre petrol engine produces 103 hp of power and 148 Nm of torque, while the 1.5 diesel engine churns out power in two states of tunes – 85hp and 110 hp. The upcoming crossover will get All wheel drive system.

Renault will start strong in the SUV segment, competing the likes of the Toyota Innova and the Mahindra XUV and Suzuki's S Cross.

The French automaker is expected to launch the crossover around the festive season this year.
